As an alternate course format, consider providing your students with a real-world challenge from our network of host company partners. Students earn course credit as they use skills, theories, and frameworks from their studies to solve business challenges through Capstone Projects.
A project charter is created to outline the goals of the engagement, including the company background and the business challenges. Students work in small groups of 2-6 directly with faculty and host company project champions on developing real solutions to real-world challenges. The students interact with the company frequently through in-person meetings, video conferences, calls, and emails.
This group of students worked closely with Youth INC’s senior leadership on developing and implementing an on-boarding process for their new board members by interviewing current and prospective board members, gathering, organizing, and standardizing training materials, assessing technology tools for process improvement purposes, and suggesting an official formal board on-boarding process.
This group helped SwipeSense, a healthcare technology company focused on tracking critical hygiene-related hardware within hospital systems, prepare to add new product lines by building out robust financial forecasts based on sales expectations. The forecasts have been used for cash runway management, investor relations, internal benchmarks, and lending applications. The students analyzed the business model, key competitors, KPIs, and financial data in order to establish 3-5 year projections.
This group of students helped a fast-growing corporate catering marketplace prepare for growth by assembling a special “launch playbook” for the company to use when entering new cities and regions, including a business model and growth plan assessment including financial projections and analysis.
This group of students helped a fast-growing cuban coffee shop concept build on existing traction in a trackable way by administerning a business model, competitor, and KPI analysis, then a deep-dive on the current customer portfolio, then wrapped up by assembling a marketing and customer loyalty strategy with financial & KPI projections.
This group of students helped a children’s’ literacy platform plan to scale internationally by administering a competitive analysis, user data analysis, high priority country profiling and deep dive, and suggesting an official international growth strategy.
This group of students helped a business process automation company assemble a sales and marketing channel assessment by administering a deep dive on their existing products, an analysis of the company’s business model, industry, and current product use cases. Then they narrowed focus to one target use case and provided recommendations for sales and marketing channels.
